One lazy Sunday at a café in Adelaide, a group of friends were talking about a business venture when they uncovered a fact that none of them were previously aware of- tampons in Australia were not sterile. For years the group had assumed that tampons were sterile, they were wrong.
In the weeks and months that followed their discovery grew into a business plan and soon a product was born, they called it Pureste, the first sterilized tampons in Australia.
This small group of friends never dreamt that their first business idea would lead to an accidental discovery that could potentially change the landscape of the feminine hygiene market in Australia forever. With daughters of their own they couldn’t think of a more appropriate product innovation with which to begin. Despite the fact that Australian Standards do not require tampons to be sterile, this group believed that this point of difference offered a real opportunity to fill a gap in the market.
Pureste Sterilised Tampons, Pads and Liners grew from a chance discovery over breakfast with friends, to a brand new product range available nationwide through Coles, Foodland, IGA, Priceline, Target, Kmart, selected independent supermarkets and all good pharmacies.
This group’s passion in driving this business venture, and the introduction to the market of the only sterilised range of products of this type, has empowered Australian women with a greater variety of choice when deciding on what is right for them.
