about sterilisation
Our invisible difference
When you open a box of Pureste our products will look similar to other brands you've used before. That's because our difference is one you can't actually see.
Pureste uses the same sterilising process that almost all medical equipment goes through to remove every last trace of bacteria making our tampons, pads and panty liners 100% bacteria free. Of course you'd need a microscope to see this, so we've made it easy to recognise a sterilised product by placing the Sterile R symbol on every pack. It's the same seal you'll see on band-aids and other medical equipment. No other feminine hygiene brand in Australia and New Zealand can carry this symbol, as they all contain at least some form of bacteria*.
(*Australian standards allow a very small amount of microbial content in pads, tampons and liners.)
Pureste is made in Eastern Europe like most Australian feminine hygiene products. They are as comfortable and as absorbent as other brands. The exception is our tampons, pads and liners are made in the same factory that produces medical equipment for brain surgeons.
What looks like plastic around each tampon is actually airtight BOPP foil that restricts any new air from coming in. With the strictest quality testing you can take our word for it.
